I just recently visited St. Thomas. There was a lot that I forgot and took for granted about living on an island which came back to me after being away for nine years.

I found a really cheap flight from a Wednesday to Wednesday, for a little over $300, from RDU to MIA to STT, and didn’t check any bags. Just used my backpack and carry-on. I’d been long overdue and was scheduled to go in 2017 a few days after hurricane Irma hit and had to cancel.

The struggle with going home to a beautiful place is how much time do you spend with family and how much time do you get in for yourself? I got a lot of much needed time with family, but wanted to put together a content with the b-roll of me-time.

Four minutes of roosters @ 3 a.m.

I journaled a lot more than I’m posting these are just brief impressions. There’s a love hate relationship I have with the islands. The beauty of the place vs. the economic dependence on tourism. Luxury brands being sold by the working class, who are held hostage by the inflated cost of goods. yadda yadda yadda.

I’ll always call it home
