Marriage is some hard work. They don’t give you a manual. In a window of hours there are neck-vein-throbbing shouting matches and belly laughs.
At times you go back to the 8×10 portrait of them in your mind that caught them on a happy day and ask, “what the hell happened to that person? they’ve been replaced! I’ve been had!!!”
and you also think “damn, i used to be so laid back, cool calm and collected.”
you then catch yourself in fits of rage arguing over something as trivial as “what the lower right third of the dryer dial means”.
maybe it’s me…
