One of the few cassette tapes i still have in my possession is the School Daze soundtrack and I was racking my brain during the move trying to figure out how to get it to digital format. And out comes the new School Daze DVD, with the soundtrack CD included. Off course the most recognized song on there is Da Butt, but my favorite song is Stevie Wonder’s I Can Only Be me, sung by Keith John, who i think i saw sing backup for Stevie.

[edit 2/13/5] Spike’s commentary was not updated from the previous release of this DVD. It was obvious he hadn’t seen the movie in years. He did drop some nuggets of info about the administration at Morehouse during the filming. but at times you forgot the commentary track was on, he was sitting there silently watching it with you. I didn’t make it all the way through, to be fair, it felt like just watching the movie again w/o added value.

and last weekend I was watching a rerun of an old movie and I saw this actor and I was wondering if he was still alive because he was up in age then and all of the other actors his junior are middle aged now…he died a few days later, the same day as Ossie.
