one thing i have noticed since moving to Greensboro (i guess there are a lot more people on foot over here as opposed to Winston-Salem) is the lack of respect pedestrians have for crosswalks or traffic signals. they seem to take the pedestrian having the right of way anywhere they step out into the street. Especially down Elm-Eugene which is like 5 or 6 lanes wide in some places. I had to look up the pedestrian laws just to make sure, because they act like jaywalking is a right. It’s like people step out in traffic as if to say, I’m a pedestrian, AND I DARE YOU TO HIT ME AND I’M EVEN GOING TO SLOW IT UP A BIT BECAUSE YES, I AM A PEDESTRIAN AND I’LL WIN IF YOU HIT ME AND YOU BETTER NOT HONK YOUR HORN AND IF YOU MAKE A FACE I SWEAR I WILL POP LOCK ACROSS THE STREET
where is the fear? i think they are forgetting the laws of physics.
That’s it! I’m gonna start pop locking across the street! 🙂
The Elm-Eugene crew gets the best of the worst award for pedestrian violations…
Two words: “LOVE TAP”
I’ve seen pedestrians like that but being hit and having the ability to “win” isn’t worth it to me. Here, in Atlanta, the drivers don’t seem to care – whether you have the right of way or not, they will run you over. I wish that the diver’s here had more respect for the walking . . .
