In 1983 I got my first point and shoot. It was 35 millimeter and you didn’t know until a week later or longer what you shot would look like.

I took it with me when I joined that Army and got tons of shots. In ’88 some Hawaiin beach sand got stuck in the lens cover. It didn’t work for years. It was revived in the 90s when I would use it to shoot selfies, before the internet as we know it and the existence of social media.

It started my loveaffair with photography. If you love it like I do, keep capturing.
