I’ve been back, and dealing w/ it. The fact is that the church is hot like the bad place we are trying to avoid and packed up like a sardine can. I saw that in orientation when the people in suits were sweating like they stole something and I wasn’t. My solution: dress business casual, get there really early, and stop rushing around the house before i leave.
I’ve been asked to join what I’m calling the A/V ministry. I videotaped their service today, a first there, on the day they celebrated 100 years. I offered to work the switchboard for the sound system next week. I don’t know. I can see me spreading myself thin, getting burned out too soon and pulling a Chapelle. I might back out of this one.
