On Thursday it was announced that Ken Kutaragi, will step down as Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.’s chairman and group chief executive. He has been known as “The Father of The Playstation”. This comes after a sales slump caused by production shortages and a hefty $600 pricetag. Gamers who can play the similar games on cheaper systems like the popular Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 are going that route. Nintendo announced this week profits are up 77% and they plan to increase production.
This week I also noticed an article on Radar Magazine about how Spiderman 3 has supposedly cost Sony Studios 500 Million Dollars (Dr. Evil pinkie laugh) MuHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
And also this week there’s news that Acer computers are recalling 27,000 Sony laptop batteries, a problem which caused Dell to recall 4 million Sony laptop batteries in 2006.
