If you put it in Speilbergian terms, it was a bit of ET mixed with Saving Private Ryan. I enjoyed it for the most part – the ending will make or break a movie for me, and this was a bit anticlimactic. Throughout the viewing I found myself concerned with what was going to happen to Ray (Tom Cruise’s character) and his family. At the beginning when the danger reveals itself, it’s on a scale of “Dang, looks like it’s the end of the world.”
I think oddly enough I enjoyed the camera/effects work as the van moves down the highway and everyone’s freaking out. I was thinking “ok, that’s an impossible shot”.
Of course, I had to question a few plot points, but overall a good popcorn movie.
I liked it. It was cool. I think the little girl (from Man on Fire) is the shit. She looks 10 but I swear she has to be 19 or 20.
Hey did you dig the scene with Tim Robbins & Tom Cruise?
