By individual demand. my top 10 movies of 05′ in no particular order.

Primer – I saw this on DVD, AMAZING freaking movie. stayed with me for weeks, done on a shoestring budget, awesome mindmolesting concept. A must own for my library. if you’re not a nerd, stay away, you’ll hate it. and if you don’t like it, don’t tell me because it’ll reveal to me you’re dumb.

Ray – I’ll claim it in ’05 because I just saw it for the first time over the holidays despite the fact that i’d owned the DVD for awhile. I never like i’d be in the mood to see a story of hardship. but saw to avoid of getting my black card revoked. it was good, even on the small screen. Almost good enough for me to recommend to my grandmother, if not for the sex and drugs, and well, might as well say the rock and roll.
War of The Worlds – for the first hour and a half, gripping, terrorizing and dreadful. then it poofed out when they died from the exposure to katieholmes.

The Squid and The Whale – I saw this last night but I’m still adding this to my list, the night after I saw the extra features on my new Dumb and Dumber DVD. That Jeff Daniels is great. disturbing, sad, and funny. anyone familiar w/ how much of an idiot a PhD. can be or have gone through a divore can relate.

Syriana – This might come in after Primer for my favorite movie of the bunch. I can’t say why I liked it so much, but it was like a good cup of infotainment.

Crash
– Good story and acting, although entirely unrealistic coincidences and near misses
Hustle and Flow – I felt like i was there in the w/ D-Jay and wanted to get out along w/ him. TH and Luda sharing scenes in both Crash and this was another bonus

Star Wars: R.O.T.S. – technically it was the anti Matrix Trilogy, the last one was the best. but that’s like assigning the best S.T.D. It sorta kinda satisfied me, except for the “love story” and Obi Wan aging badly in 20 years. It was maybe the 3rd or 4th best out of the 6.

Wedding CrashersWedding Crashers – funny, although Vince Vaughn carried the entire movie.

Batman BeginsBatman Begins– the most “realisitic” one, makes all the others look like dated Saturday morning fluff.
