I watched a movie that my fellow alum/coworker E rented called Knowing Richard Black, a no-budget indie from Jon Marc Sandifer (he reminded me of a Kwame/Kanye hybrid).
I knew going into it that there were no “actors” and it was filming a mostly real situation with black people a shaky handcam. For what it was, I enjoyed it.
now i want to make me buy a digital video camera, a firewire card, some editing software and make me a no-budget documentary. probably featuring J and following one of her pursuits d’jour.
I went to Circuit City last night after my frat R hipped me to this new DLP technology. they had a 50 inch tube-based monitor. I think i’ll say 50 inches is a little on the “pimp my basement” side of big. then i saw a 30″ widescreen tube-based hdtv set that i was drooling over last year which is now <bulged eyes> 25% </bulged eyes> cheaper than i remember.
i sensed there a cute woman of i think east-indian descent was trying to make goo-goo eyes at me, but was busy with the hdtvs and dvds to notice. j was updated in our weekly “i got some attention today” report.
i am liking the new yahoo messenger and for the moment am the king of collapse on my list. but i’ll enjoy it as long as it lasts, like if i were an i*raqi politician.
