after i gave my grandmother the “we’re two different people” preamble of the me and j situation, one of the things she said was “yeah, i picked up on that”.
I told my best friend D this and he hit me with, “you know, that’s exactly what my mother said after she left your house – I don’t know how they’re doing it, but he’s making it work”
coupla things here —
1) the phenomenon of people being especially candid after your breakup – i’ve had friends WHO COULDN’T WAIT to unload on an ex-girlfriend of mine, saying unflattering things about the size of her head. gee thanks buddy.
2) was it that obvious to everyone except us? um…that’s a rhetorical question, people. please avoid committing rule #1.
