Como se llama, llama?

Just got back from celebrating Year II of marriage. At first I didn’t know what to expect, only given driving directions from the wife and to bring hiking shoes. We drove on I40 west to Exit 15, as in 15 miles from Tennessee up this long winding gravel road well past civilization, in what I’ll refer to as Inthecut, NC. We pulled up to a bed and breakfast on a llama farm.

a llama farm??

My thoughts exactly.

At 7:00 PM a group of us were assigned a llama (every other person). Ours was Hawkfeather. We hiked up a winding mountain trail, and then we were served a meal prepared on the spot (grilled chicken w/ pasta salad and wine). Llamas have 3 stomachs and the storage capacity was graphically evident…

A reporter for a nearby paper was in our group doing a story and interviewed everyone there, I will keep my eye out for the article. I was struggling in some of the pictures he took. He had the superdeluxe model Kodak digital. I had the DC280 he had the DC5000.

That night I was knocked out.

It was a pleasant surprise and something I would not have expected to participate in. I’d recommend it, and would probably go again w/ a group of friends. Western NC has a lot of attractions I’ve been sleeping on. I think we’ll try to tackle whitewater rafting next…
