As the Dreamcast fades away into the sunset I reflect on the turbulent relationship I have had with Sega. I first met her in ’91 and she told me her name was Genesis. We had good times back then, I knew what buttons to push. Remember the Madden of ’92?

Playstation tried to holla, but I remained loyal. Genny couldn’t keep up with my needs, and we fell out of touch. Then she came back on the scene as Saturn. She had mad game(s). She kept me up late at night trying to figure her out. Playstation was representing lovely, but I hung in there.

Next thing you know Saturn left me high and dry with no explanation. I broke down and got at Playstation on the rebound…we had a lot of fun, but like a Dreamcast, Sega came back on the scene. Her complexion was a bit lighter this year and she was a little chunkier, but I was always in her corner when no one paid her any mind. We kicked it for a year and a half but the player got played once again. It was fun while it lasted.

Goodbye Old Friend…
