We just had a most unexpected visitor.
It was one of those times when you’re least expecting company and don’t want to answer the door.
A few months ago we got a visit by a vacuum salesperson. One of those Rainbow models. A very exceptional ($$$) product but their methods for getting their foot in the door were suspect.
We were told we won an all expenses paid trip from a home show contest we entered and all we had to listen to a spiel and you know how it goes. When we found out the real deal (timeshare w/ no airfare) we sent them on their way. We had written out the check and everything. like i said, it was a damn fine product.
The president of the company called us and apologized for the telephone solicitor misleading us. He told us he would send us a check for the price of airfare for this bogus trip for our troubles. weeks passed. nada. I wrote it off as one of those scams that I lost nothing on while emailing the Better Business Bureau. more weeks pass. months even.
Back to the visitor. Supposed president of the company. me looking a hot mess. With a check dated June 5.
We’ll see if it clears.
