I decided to file a claim and contact some disaster cleanup people since there was no improvement w/ the saturation levels and the dehumidifer wasn’t doing anything except icing up. I was not comfortable knowing there was a lot of moisture underfoot even though it looked ok…
The carpet and pad are a loss, were ripped up and still quite soaked. Both people that have been here are shocked at the amound of open uninsulated space between the outer wall and the pipe. The saturated instualtion was actually frozen to the wall….Another bonus we got from Fortis Homes builders: a spitcup left inside of our drywall. THANKS FORTIS!
