Saturday, during a lull in the rain I went outside to put shrub fertilizer down and I saw this man at the other end of the street going from one house to the next. He was wearing like a yellow water resistant jumpsuit, so i figured he was dressed to be outdoors and was probably selling something.
An hour or so later I left and saw him knocking on a door on another street. And I was like “the nerve! aint no way I’m buying something from someone walking around in the rain.” I wish he would have come by so i could have said no to his face. I was doing chores that morning and had one of the Urban Digital Music channels blaring, so it’s possible that he might have.
on the way back home i saw a piece of paper on my doorstep, indicating that he did. After I got in and went around and opened the front door, the very first line said “NEVER OPEN YOUR DOOR TO A STRANGER”, and the rest of the copy talked about security. Dude was selling peepholes and installing them on the spot for $25. The day before, someone was telling me i needed one. I thought that was one of the cleverest marketing ploys i’d seen in awhile, and I called him up and got one installed.
