One of the nice things about living in NC is you can go from the Mountains to the Coast. And we usually do both in a year. The Outer Banks for the Summer and the Asheville area in the fall. This trip coincided with the Kitty Hawk Kite Festival. There are two huge sand dunes in the area where dozens of people came out with kites. The Kite store across the street had kites of all shapes and sizes and even kite bling. We went in the beginning of April so it was chilly with the sea breeze that time of year. Being in the off season the rental properties were dark and deserted at night. We also went to the Aquarium on Roanoke Island in Manteo, which reminded me a lot of Coral World in St. Thomas.
