or My evening with Sanaa Lathan
I made the mistake of walking down to The Royale from my hotel. when i got there I was sweating more than Michael Moore at the Republican National Convention.
I had picked out a decent seat but them joints was so small and huddled together it was one step up from the Amistad. after feeling the cool breeze and looking around i made the observation that this theater looked JUST LIKE the Muppet Show set, specially the side balcony where the old hecklers hung out. and i got the lady sitting next to me to cosign. i told you i don’t get out much, right?
My review of Raisin in the Sun: Phylicia Rashad was amazing, simply put. Audra McDonald was powerful. Sanaa, who i broke eye contact with at least three times, was always infallible, the little boy was good. Radio Raheem 🙂 Bill Nunn had a role just as brief as he did in Spiderman 2. Diddy got the most applause. I’m not going to jump on the hatewagon, but he was Diddy in a play with actors.
i was waiting for the speech about dreams drying up like a raisin in the sun, that never came.
My audience review: Melba Moore was in the audience. damn.
and i’m not the keenest on nonverbal communication, but when the woman sitting next to you stands with her ass in your face during intermisison, what does that mean? it was violating my space for like a good five minutes. i did a good job of not acknowledging it though
ohhhh so you did see “Raisin”…damn I wanna see that. I know Phylicia was Fab., and Diddy got the most applause? hmmmmm
