Today was the kickoff of the Secret Santa selection process at work.
There was a gift-certificate camp and a non-gift-certificate camp, and there were differences of opinion in how much loot would be the limit. (the lower-amount-limit people were, i think, the exact same people who were in the gift-certificate pile).
By a show of hands the higher-amount-limit non-gift-certificate group won. A coup was threatened.
During the name picking, there appeared to be some voter fraud, but it seemed to be resolved.
I’m not even messing with Dirty Santa. people take it personal.
funny…I think I got out of it one year by claiming it was against my beliefs or something. I always wound up with crappy stuff that was pretty much useless. Not even worth regifting.
I hate the having to get a gift for someone just because you work with them!
we basically do a white elephant gift exchange at our Christmas lunch…bring a gift if u want to join in, if not, don’t bring anything–no hassles
I worked for a company that did the white elephant – it was fun trying to avoid the “bad” gifts. The white elephant allows for regifting, well at least for this group it did.
Otherwise, I hate the secret santa thing, people become insane. just give me a simple “merry x-mas” and be on the way.
