On my Mother-in-law’s birthday I reflect on the week thus far in my homeland.

  • I’ve experienced racism by my own fellow Virgin Islanders.
  • I am seeing my Godmother for the first time since suffering from Alzhiemers and wish I had an earlier opportunity to talk with her.
  • I’m beneficiary to a relative who has gone through great lengths to establish her legacy after death while she neglects to address it during her life.
  • I was put in the unique situation where I exchanged introductions between my wife and my first girlfriend.
  • I witnessed the convergence of my differing degrees of separation in one exteded family reunion.
  • I am being beat down by the sun.
  • I haven’t had time to do JACK for self – except type this…
  • The St. Thomas KMart makes a mean meat pate.
  • The roosters owned by the people next door must be on Greenwich Mean Time.
  • I often thought my unorthodox family tree as more of a vine, but after seeing my family through my wife’s and in-law’s eyes, I appreciate my family a whole lot more.
