I decided to stay up and tackle the hard work…that Bissel has earned its keep. then i called the plumber w/ the biggest yellow page ad that said 24 hour service. Mr. Man came at 8 so i crashed from 6 to 7:45. It ended up being less catastrophic than i thought, but it’s still damp all over, moreso in some spots. and it’s too dry and cold for the dehumidfier to do any good. The cheap builders (Fortis Homes) put in some brittle pipes that were uninsulated against the outer side of the house. cold air rushes through this new hole with surprising ease, so I have to get some insulation and learn how to repair drywall in the very near future, when the weather lets up.
i’m starting to think this house doesn’t like me
All houses “cry” on their first year. Being animistic, I know, but it is better than the rational explanation.
oy vey.
good news: it’s less catastrophic than you thought.
I am begining to believe that it is because of crappy builders that we learn how to do most home repairs. I figured out how to completely overhaul my toilet due to poor workmanship and cheap materials.
God speed on your mission.
