I passed a cop on the way in. He was doing about 65 in a 65 and had a column of commuters behind him in the “fast” lane. I was doing a steady 71, maybe 72 on cruise as I approached from his right. He cut in front of me and I signaled and made my lane change to the left.
I passed him. He pulled up beside me, angrily mouthing “sixty five”, pointing downwards then flashing his palm, fingers extended.
I think that was the 5.
65 is hard to sign with one hand.
Was I in the wrong?
I complied for the next 15 seconds until he took the next exit.
