my grandmother said, “let me run something by you…what do you think of me getting a computer?”
man, there are small electronic devices that ran on AA batteries that were above their comprehension back in the day. So I dread trying to explain and troubleshoot anything of this century via long distance. Moms and her had a conversation about “wouldn’t it be nice to send emails?” and here we are.
“and I want a laptop. and wireless” In the virgin islands, power goes out after a good rain and the lines are busy on most holidays. I’m not sure if they have broadband and how reliable it is.
I’m like, man…trying to explain that all that’s not practical for just sending email. then i started looking @ Web TV which is now MSN TV2, that appears to be do able, and you can hook a printer up to it too. They have a local access number and I plan on surprising them w/ it when i go and footing their access bills. (hey i’m going to need access while I’m down there right?)
You may be very suprised. When my dad passed away, my mother (age 67) bought herself a computer and basically taught herself. I would have NEVER had thought. You’d be surprised.
yeah–get moms and grandma on the info highway, they may end more ‘net savy than you think!
I forgot to add that access to my blog is in the CONS column.
