for the birds blog
I’m not sure how it happened but one day I woke up and became a bird-watcher. Shortly before I bought a suet cage and suet loaf. That’s a mix of goo and seeds in a square mass that you put in a cage and hang in a tree…the Bluejays eat it up like contraband. they went through half of it in 2 days. It’s supposed to suppliment their diet when they can’t eat insects in the winter…I have also identified a Black Capped Chickadee that eats from the regular seed feeder most frequently. None of the geese have goslings, although I did find an egg with an embryo under the deck stairs…I think the neighborhood cats are responsible.
