yesterday, on the way home I had a craving for some Nestle’s Quik. but it was more than a craving. it was like someone jacked into an old memory and played it back.
i remember mixing this concoction, two heaping spoonfuls high and watching the milk transform into a cocoa elixer and pulling out the spoon, to see the milk peel away to reveal the undissolved resistant remains.
This usually was an extra treat.
I could taste an undissolved chocolate mountain of powder on a spoon, after inhaling its brown mist.
I relived this while driving down Lee Street yesterday.
oh! I have had that childhood craving thing so many times. Worst is when you go back to try and recreate it, and everything seems … well, smaller. like Christmases.
Stephen….you and J. need to start making little S&J babies. Then you can share in the ‘Nestle’s Nirvana’ experience together. Believe me. Also works for the ‘pixie stick’ high aka the original kids cocaine?
