I caught Justice League this weekend…well I taped it and got caught up. Phil Lamar (the UPS Guy from Mad TV & he was in Pulp Fiction) is getting a ton of voice work these days. I think that’s something on my short list of things I’d like to do for a living. I wonder how hard that is. I noticed Carl Lumby was the Martian Manhunter (Mantis, Cagney & Lacey). I wasn’t diggin Superman’s voice. Tim Daly should’ve put a clause in his contract. The show’s better than the Superfriends. They should have gone back and updated the comic book origin of the JLA…it also dealt with space invaders but it was kinda 50’s-ish. I saw the hints of villains to come and I am looking forward to those episodes. Cartoon Network is doin’ it up!
I noticed they brought back Snapper Carr…I wasn’t sure what his role was, he was like the Mascot or the Jimmy Olsen of the JLA…
Continuity is always a problem with these type of shows…oh well…
I am not digging the Wonder Woman bracelts thing…what if 3 people shoot her at the same time? And the tiara/boomerang thing…what was up with that? but I haven’t seen them doing that in a while…I don’t like Bat’s ears either…too Bob Kane-ish…You pretty much know the personalities of the different people, Wally’s the comic relief, John Stewart seems to be the field leader, etc. I always thought Diana was a Warrior type, but Hawkgirl has that category on lock.
Speakin of voices, Keith David (Cameron Diaz’ father in Something About Mary) was doing the “and now back to…” segments for the JL, he has got the market covered now…I hear him in everything.
well the JL show is pretty tight, Phill Lamar is rackin up voice actin jobs 4 sure. I diddnt realize who was J’onn’s voice till now. I just wish they added Aquaman & plastic man to the roster. The voices are perfect to me otherwise they stayed true to the book at the same time letting newcomers jump on.
I saw a sketch of Aquaman on the Cartoon Network site, the hippie hook handed version…
