The Crisis on Infinite Earths is back out as a bound edition. This was a 12 issue saga that came out in ’85 that cleaned house in the DC Universe. This series had me open. They killed of The Flash and Supergirl and a ton of other heroes and villains. This was in my glory days of comic collecting. I used to spend a big chunk of my Army paycheck on them. What ever store I had membership in would keep my issues waiting for me every week. The Watchmen was another one of the classics. I was more of a DC head than Marvel, but I was down with the X-Men back when Rogue joined the team. I wasn’t a collector in the assumption of wealth sense, I just loved the story, the art, and the fantasy. Back home I had a drum full of books, before I learned of the value of acid-free boards and mylar bags. My grandmother threw away a small fortune in books. Then I got grown and stopped reading them, only getting an issue here or there if the cover caught my eye. I can’t keep up with the amount of titles out now or the prices. It’s cool to see how an industry has developed off our fascination with tales that astonish and amaze.
