GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating the apparent drive-by shooting death of a cat.
The 17-pound black cat named Bene was sunning himself on the front porch of a Greensboro house when a green Honda Civic pulled up nearby.
A witness told police the car idled under a flowering dogwood tree before a shot was heard.
Authorities said two people were in the car, which drove off after the shooting.
